Taxonomy of the Fox

There are 12 Species of true fox I’ve provided links to the Wiki pages

The red fox is by far the most wide spread and widely adaptable species of fox able to survive in many environments and thrive on a number of continents.  The species is roughly 1.5 million years old.

The Vulpes family shared ancestor lived approximately 9-11 million years ago in North America, diverging from there into at least 12 known species.
