The red fox is by far the most wide spread and widely adaptable species of fox able to survive in many environments and thrive on a number of continents. The species is roughly 1.5 million years old.
The Vulpes family shared ancestor lived approximately 9-11 million years ago in North America, diverging from there into at least 12 known species. |
